Even the most gorgeous of homes need a little face lift every now and then. One of the easiest and trendiest ways to spruce up any room in your home is with shiplap. This easy to use paneling gives bare walls a boost with a cozy, farm-house style aesthetic that’s easy to install, even for novice DIY-ers.

To test our theory we teamed up with Metrie, interior designer Andrew Pike and contractor Andrew Wood, of Ecnomus Construction Group to see just how easy a shiplap DIY project can be. Using shiplap from Metrie’s Option {M} Modern Farmhouse style, we transformed a guest bedroom of our Modern Farmhouse model home at Empire Riverland in Breslau, Ontario.

Watch the video below to see how Andrew Pike used shiplap with other decor elements to fashion a modern farmhouse space that’s beaming with warmth, texture, and patterns and how Andrew Wood put it all together.

If you love clean lines with rustic elements, this style is certainly for you. Shiplap from Metrie’s Option {M} line is a perfect way to help you transform a room in just one weekend. To help those of us who don’t have a designer and handy man at their disposal, Metrie has also created a step-by-step guide with images and a detailed list of all the items you’d need to create this wall feature.
